Flapper Girl

Darlings,

What a rollercoaster of a year this has been. Not a soul could have foreseen the unthinkable events of these last few months. Although if I am being honest, for me these past 4 years have been an accumulation of growing pains. Emotionally and physically I have faced incredible challenges at every turn. I have learned that with pain comes tremendous growth and opportunity. So despite what has been happening in my personal life and around the globe— I am grateful for the love that meets me every second of every day.

I recently felt inspire to create, so create I did. This year my Halloween costume was an homage to the great flappers of the 1920s. What many people do not realize is that ‘flappers’ were societal outcasts. These women were choosing to live life on their own terms and because of it they were deemed promiscuous and unruly. 100 years later and the battle over female sovereignty continues. As the great Ruth Bader Ginsburg once said: “I ask no favor for my sex. All I ask of our brethren is that they take their feet off our necks.”

Tomorrow is a big day for our Country and I am choosing to hold space for triumph. No matter what transpires, it will all be ok. I feel that life has been teaching me this lesson over and over again. I remind myself on the daily to, ‘Walk by faith not by sight.’

Stay safe and keep holding the light.
